Gold Coast Light Rail

As the Gold Coast Light Rail shapes the future of Mermaid Beach and Miami, our Loxton Sandstone brings a far older story to the project. Quarried and split at our own Queensland quarry, each block was manufactured to a substantial 150-200mm thickness for this landmark retaining wall, delivered for John Holland.

Gold Coast Light Rail

Some stories span centuries. Others are written over millions of years.

Gold Coast Light Rail

This project demanded more than premium natural stone. It required the quarry capacity, manufacturing expertise and logistics to deliver at infrastructure scale.

The result included:

  •  Nearly 500 tonnes of split Loxton Sandstone
  •  Approximately 6,000 stainless steel anchors
  •  Close to 100 tonnes of cement

Every block was quarried, manufactured, transported and installed to create infrastructure that will serve the Gold Coast for generations.

Natural stone connects people to place. In one of Australia's fastest-growing cities, it's fitting that this new infrastructure has been built using Queensland sandstone formed over millions of years.

At Aussietecture, we don't just supply stone – we help build projects that become part of Australia's landscape and history.
